Terms and Conditions for Services Effective 11 March 2024

All clients will be deemed to have accepted Daisy Mais - The Canine Club terms and conditions on signature of the contract.

Daisy Mais will not confirm any booking until a meet and greet has been carried out and the terms and conditions have been signed by the client.

Client must complete a ‘New Client Registration Form’ prior to first walk. Including contact numbers, emergency contacts, vet details, and any other relevant information.

Client is to make full disclosure of any quality or characteristic problems which may cause the dog to be unsuitable for walking or sitting. These include, but are not contained too, behavioural, health, antisocial display, aggression, or lack of house training. Client agrees to notify Daisy Mais immediately of any changes to the above.

Daisy Mais reserves the right to refuse any pet deemed unsuitable for walking or pet sitting.

Client must inform Daisy Mais of any allergies or intolerances their pet(s) may have.

A constant supply of fresh, clean water will be provided.

Client confirms that all vaccinations, treatments and licences for the ownership of the pet(s) are up to date. Client accepts that even though their dog is vaccinated against Bordetella (Kennel Cough), there is a chance that the dog can still contract kennel cough. The client agrees that they will not hold Daisy Mais responsible if their dog contracts kennel cough whilst in our care.

Client agrees to notify Daisy Mais immediately of any infectious and/or contagious diseases or conditions their pet has been exposed to or affected by.

Client must inform Daisy Mais if they have a bitch in season prior to the walk, and understand she must be kept on-lead and only book solo walks during this period.

All dogs must be microchipped and be wearing an ID tag. The dog walker may use their own ID tag whilst out with the dog if not provided.

The owner agrees to supply a suitable lead/collar/harness etc. in a serviceable condition. Daisy Mais will not be held responsible for any loss or damage due to wear and tear or if they are found in a non-serviceable condition.

Daisy Mais offers services where dogs socialise in groups and the client accepts that during normal dog play their dog may sustain injuries. All dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injuries, but scratches, punctures or other minor injuries may occur despite the best supervision.

Daisy Mais will only let dogs ‘off-lead’ once this has been agreed upon and discussed together by the dog walker and owner; but this will remain at the dog walkers’ discretion.

The client is responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or illness that their pet receives while under the care of Daisy Mais, along with any additional charges. If the owner is unable to be contacted, the client authorises the dog walker to seek such veterinary advice and/or treatment as they deem necessary. Where possible this will be carried out by the clients’ usual/preferred vet; but in the event of an emergency this cannot be guaranteed and the client accepts that Daisy Mais may at their discretion use any registered vets.

Daisy Mais will ensure care is taken to look after your pet whilst under our supervision however Daisy Mais cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a pet either inside or outside the home. It is the clients’ responsibility to ensure the house is safe and secure for the pet(s) prior to and after the visit.

Daisy Mais will provide at least 1 months’ notice of any holidays taken, to allow clients to make alternative service arrangements for this time.

Your booked time is estimated only and we make every effort to arrive at the time given. Depending on road conditions and unforeseen circumstances, please allow approximately 30 minutes after your booked time slot for us to attend.

Daisy Mais is likely to transport your dog(s) to and from suitable dog walking locations by vehicle and your dog(s) should be able to travel in vehicles safely.

Daisy Mais tries to select green and/or woody areas for walks and dogs may get muddy, wet or dirty. The walker will make every effort to drop off a clean dog by towelling and wiping down your pet but cannot guarantee the dogs’ full cleanliness or that they will be smell-free. Clients will be notified of any poo rolling and/or extreme muddiness. The walker will always remove dirty shoes before entering homes.

Daisy Mais will apply their best judgement in the event of extreme weather conditions such as heat or thunderstorms, and will take necessary action to ensure the safety of both dogs and walker, which may include cutting walks short or providing an alternative pet pop-in service.

If the walker arrives to collect a dog and the dog is visibly unwell and/or sick, the walker reserves the right to cancel the dog walk, and will immediately notify the dog owner about the situation. Giving the dog a chance for a toilet break and will charge the full amount of the intended walk.

The owner will provide access to collect the dog from the agreed address at the agreed times on the agreed days, or provide Daisy Mais with a key to access the property. Daisy Mais will only use the key to the owners’ property to collect and return the dog and for no other purpose. All property keys will be kept safe and secure at all times, not labelled with address details and will be returned upon request of the owner. Failure to arrange access to the dog for the agreed appointment will result in a cancellation for that days’ service and is to still be paid in full by the client.

Upon the client providing a key to the property, a key release/return form should be completed by the pet owner. This will indemnify Daisy Mais in full against any liability arising from loss or damage to the property or its contents, in present and future circumstances.

Full payments for services (agreed at the time of booking) are to be made by bank transfer or cash by the Friday of the week the walks have been undertaken. If payment is not received by 11.59 PM of the Friday the payment is due, a charge of 5% of the total bill will be added for each day payment is overdue.

Cancellations: For cancellations, 48 hours’ notice is required and you will not be charged. Cancellations between 24-48 hours, 50% of payment is required to be paid. 24 hours or less, full payment will still be required and invoiced.
